Apaar ID Card 2025 – Registration, Benefits, Required Details Online

An APAAR ID refers to the “Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry” (APAAR) ID, part of India’s One Nation, One Student ID initiative launched by the Ministry of Education under the NEP 2020 policy.

APAAR stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It is a unique identification number assigned to every student in India. The primary purpose of this ID is to maintain a centralized record of a student’s academic achievements—including certificates, degrees, and co-curricular activities—throughout their educational journey.

Purpose of Apaar ID

  • Track students’ academic journeys from pre-primary to higher education.
  • Enable seamless transfers between schools or states.
  • Link educational data to the DigiLocker for official access.
  • Assist in scholarship eligibility, curriculum planning, and policy decisions.

Benefits of APAAR:

  • Easy access to all academic documents.
  • Faster admissions and educational services.
  • Central record for academic tracking and scholarships.
  • Reduces paperwork and chances of document loss.

All credentials are saved in the APAAR ID; thus, students do not need to present additional certificates. This eliminates the possibility of losing hard copies and makes it suitable for transfers, entrance examinations, admissions, job applications, and skill development.
